Driving at the sun,
back in my publishing days,
book ended my work.
Blinded by our star,
forced to move in bright darkness,
I loathed my commute.
I now drive westward,
as the workday yawns to life,
the sun safe behind.
Once my labors cease,
I point my car to the east,
with no need to squint.
Nirvana’s a band,
and a state I reach daily
over four score [...]

What is the point of an oaken mantle
or a bookcase holding tome upon tome
when pushing books or tipping a candle
shows no secret passage within my home?
Some folks want a house with a water view
or a residence with french doors replete,
but a layout feature plucked straight from Clue
will truly make my abode feel complete.

A few weeks ago I was contacted by TastyBaby.com to represent the Dads of the Blogosphere! by writing some content for their upcoming Father’s Day celebration.  Honored and goony with delight, I took the opportunity to write another sonnet: Eighty-Eight Keys to Overzealous Parenting.
Syllabically speaking, Eight-Eight scans well but don’t count on any reliable amount [...]

Dense snows big on sop but short on stature
coat the world like a sweatpanted loafer
who is no more than a belly scratcher
sagging jobless on his parents’ sofa.
(That last line rhymes when read by a Mainer.
People here play Three Card Monte with Rs;
removing some to make words sound plainer
and suping up others like pimped out cars.)

Some ISP trouble notwithstanding,
my new weblog theme is nearly complete.
Server-side errors impeded landing
the PHP files needed for this feat.
I can tweak and continue debuggin’
and upload all the recoded data.
